The Adam & Eve offers a cosy retreat just a short hop from the city. Surrounded by wide green spaces and historic buildings, this peaceful spot feels like a countryside escape – perfect after exploring the village or enjoying a stroll through its scenic lanes. With the charm of a rural hamlet on the doorstep, The Adam & Eve is a welcoming haven to feel relaxed with family and friends.
Despite the renovation, this place still has room for improvement. The atmosphere is okay, but the customer service was disappointing and could definitely be better. Hoping to see some positive changes in the future.

Hannah was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She patiently replied to all of our questions and accommodated every change we made to the event arrangements.
We had the upstairs rooms, which were fantastic and created a lovely atmosphere for the celebration. We opted for the buffet menu and the food was delicious, with generous portions and a great variety. Even though fewer than 20 people attended, there was still plenty of food left, so the portions were definitely more than adequate.
The staff who looked after us throughout the event were kind, friendly, and very attentive.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I would definitely choose Adam & Eve again for a future event.

We went impromptu on a recent Saturday evening with no booking. Free tables all around, but not possible to eat without a booking ... ok then, look they have a bar snack blackboard: 45 minute wait for bar snack! Who waits 45 min for a bar snack!
Ok then let's grab a packet of crisp: the waiter just throws the packet in a beer puddle on the bar: such lovely service.
The pub is not buzzing or overflowing with people, yet wait times are biblical and service is bored, borderline rude.
The atmosphere was cosier before the recent renovation.
A pity for this could be a nice village pub.

The Adam and Eve has been through several changes of hands over the 20 years we've lived here, and finally it's become the pub where we all want to be.
The new management have reduced the price of beer which doesn't happen anywhere else. The new pub manager Grant is clearly dedicated to creating a warm and friendly atmosphere whilst being efficient and watchful. His beautiful dog is a perfect example of how dog friendly this pub is and she adds even more to its charm.
All the bar staff are welcoming and know how to pour a pint of Guinness.
And the beer garden is absolutely divine especially on a sunny evening.
Can't wait to spend many more happy times at the Adam and Eve 🙂

We attended as a party of 15 for my daughter’s baptism.
When I booked over the phone they were very helpful and gave us the table that we requested.
However, the only thing that saved our day was a waitress named Leila who was lovely, friendly and understanding.
1. The roast beef was completely rare, even too rare for those of our group that sometimes order it this way. The child’s roast beef was even more undercooked than some of the adults. None of us were aware it was served this way. The portion was definitely not generous either.
I understand people have preferences, but this should be included on the menu or upon ordering with a simple question of how someone would like their beef to be cooked.
Most did not eat it or had to return it and it ruined our dinner with plates being taken away so no one was eating at the same time.
The child was put off their food and would not eat, even though the manager replaced it.
2. We ordered a calamari as a starter. The waitress explained the kitchen “forgot” and it took over an hour to come. When it came it was without the sauce and when we asked for it the kitchen staff said “what sauce”? It literally says it on your menu.
The manager offered complimentary tea and coffee but this did not make for something that was not our error.
As a customer how would we know that the roast beef is to be “served rare”. I don’t think that’s a set standard for a roast dinner, especially as this can also be a cultural difference that wasn’t acknowledged. We’ve all ordered roast dinners before and have never been served it rare.
Considering we had a very large order I would’ve appreciated the same empathy the waitress Leila showed, from the manager.
Not everyone always feels comfortable having to complain and unfortunately will suffer through the meal.
It’s not about errors, in my opinion it’s how you rectify it especially as we chose to spend such an important day at your venue.
